OUR SUGGESTIONS
This page is
intended as our warm suggestion on what to see and visit on the island
of Korcula. This page will grow gradually and probably change.
Arrival in Korcula:
If you are arriving by car the fastest and easiest connection is by
catamaran from Split. Departure is every day at 5pm and from Korcula
in 6am. After 2:45 hours of navigation you are at Korcula, for symbolic 55 kn. The top season ticket should be
purchased as early as possible.
Travel by car - simply use the ferry Drvenik-Korcula. Three lines
per day - 2.5 hours of navigation. Another good solution is by boat
Split-Vela Luka (2.45 hours) and by car across the 45 kilometers
long island Korcula.

Beaches:
Korcula beach is about 200m towards the hotel.
Badija - the largest islet in Korcula archipelago with a Franciscan
monastery and church. Taxi boat is located 50m in the direction of the
waterfront. Round-trip costs 20kn.
Lumbarda - Pržina sandy beaches, ideal for children.
Pupnatska luka - the most beautiful beache on this part of the island.
It is about 10 kilometers in the direction of Vela Luka.
Vaja - Racisce. Beautiful beach behind Racisce village. We suggest that
you visit the beach in the morning, before the mistral wind.
Restaurants:
Fish restaurant Pagar - top suggestion - in Pupnat 10 kilometers away
from Korcula. Always fresh, delicious fish and lobsters at affordable
prices.
Maslina diner - great homemade food at popular prices. You must try
Zrnovska macaroni with shrimps. The diner is situated in a narrow
passage from the main square in Korcula Plokata
Baracocula - Lumbarda
Entertainment:
Dno dna - opposite the town park. Live rock music.
Dos locos
Mistique
Disco club Gaudi - in the
Arsenal - near the cannons.
Sights to visit:
St.. Marco Cathedral - the main church in the old city
Glavica sv. Antuna - beautiful lookout / viewpoint with a small church
on top of the hill that leads up to 102 steps - at the intersection of
Lumbarda after 50m turn left, then follow the local road 200m.
Church of All Saints - Old Town - over eastern waterfront - near the
cannons.
Tower Revelin - viewpoint at the entrance to the old town
What to avoid:
City Market - Rotonda - below the walls. Prices of fruits and vegetables
for tourists can be up to 10 times higher than the prices in Konzum
shop, and significantly worse quality.
Stands beneath the walls, with unreasonable high prices.
